Federal Equal Pay Act

While the Federal Equal Pay Act has been around for nearly 60 years, many states have recently passed much more stringent laws to try to achieve equal pay. Some states have laws that require equal pay for similar work, some ban asking about an applicant’s salary history, and some do both.
