- Often done first, before wireframes or design. Simple diagrams or flowcharts that connect navigation points. Might consist of the basic skeleton/nodes of typical entry points, desired destinations, supposed yellow brick roads etc. Intended to foster and externalize decisions and goals for the team and stakeholders and to avoid internalizing decisions. Good setup to flow later into wireframes then prototypes etc. The nodes might be some personas, a list of pages, and relevant connections among them. More developed or sophisticated user flows might have more detailed UI design elements so you can be clear about whether a given page is conducive to making a desired destination - clear, easy, likely.
